VanillaBooty’s Week 7 QB Power Rankings

These are MY rankings of each NFL Quarterback through the first six weeks of the season. I am someone who will die on a hill when it comes to defending my takes which means I am right and you are wrong. I also have shit for brains so take these rankings with a grain of salt and don’t be mean to me.

  1. Patrick Mahomes – Kansas City Cheifs
  • He will own this spot for the next ten years.
  1. Jalen Hurts – Philadelphia Eagles
  • Brutal week for the hottest dude in the league. The Jets defense has been one of the toughest matchups for opposing QB’s so far this season but three interceptions against anybody is poor. Hurts has not been performing as well as he did last season, but his dual threat ability and having weapons all around him make me feel comfortable with this spot.
  1. Josh Allen – Buffalo Bills
  • Allen did just enough to lead the bills to a win against the Giants. I can’t believe I had to type that sentence out. When Josh is at the top of his game he looks unstoppable, but when he starts to turn the ball over that’s when things get messy. Outside of Stefon DIggs he doesn’t have the type of arsenal that Hurts has, but he makes the most out his situation (mostly). Shoutout Hailee Steinfeld!
  1. Joe Burrow – Cincinnati Bengals
  • Brother is going through it this season. He hasn’t looked as sharp this season as he did in his two years prior and the Bengals as a whole have been shaky. Defensively they have been pretty bad and has played a part in why Burrow has struggled as well. He looked better the past two weeks and if he can get Tee Higgins to get going, he will be just fine.
  1. Tua Tagovailoa – Miami Dolphins
  • If the season ended today I would feel confident saying that this dude is the MVP. He is in the perfect situation with Mike Mcdaniel as his coach and having Hill and Waddle as his receivers. Tua proved me wrong man, I really thought this dude stunk just a year ago, now I think he’s a top five QB in the game.
  1. Jared Goff – Detroit Lions
  • I don’t want to hear any Jared hate. Dude has been a dog this year, his team is 5-1 and has passed the eye test for me. He has a 105.1 passer rating, an 11/3 Touchdown to Interception ratio, and the best stat of them all is his 69.5% completion percentage. Nice.
  1. Lamar Jackson – Baltimore Ravens
  • I believe this guy is the truth and that he can be a top a top five QB easily because of his dual threat ability. I truly don’t understand why there is so much inconsistancy from the Ravens offense every season. I know they haven’t had much help from their wide receivers but they have shown in the past that they can still put up loads of points without them.
  1. C.J. Stroud – Houston Texans
  • Call me crazy, but Stroud has been one of the best gunslingers in the league thus far. I know it’s a small sample size but this guy is the real deal. Head coach DeMeco Ryans has let this kid sling it all over the field and has only tossed one interception in six total games, despite not having premier playmakers on his team.
  1. Justin Herbert – Los Angeles Chargers
  • Herbert is so hit or miss, In one game he looks like the perfect QB because of his build and arm strength but he also has moments (particularly when under pressure) where he looks lost. I like Herbert and I think he can be the guy who leads the Chargers to the Promise Land, I just wish he would show me more in crucial moments.
  1. Trevor Lawrence – Jacksonville Jaguars
  • He may have the highest ceiling out of any of the QBs not named Mahomes on this list. Now in his third year, Lawrence has had quite a rollercoaster career, in his rookie campaign he had to deal with Urban Meyer and his tenure as the HC in Jacksonville but had Doug Peterson in year two where his game improved massively. Through six weeks T-Law hasn’t looked great but I still believe in his talent and the talent around him to keep him in the top ten for the rest of the season.
  1. Brock Purdy – San Francisco 49ers
  • He suffered his first loss against Cleveland and looked pretty bad after Deebo Samuel and Christian McCaffery left the game but Purdy is still having a great year and is a sneaky contender to win MVP.
  1. Kirk Cousins – Minnesota Vikings
  • Cousins would be a top-five QB if I was basing this on statistics. He is a good player but he definitely isn’t great, as he is currently in year 11 and has one playoff victory. Kirk has the type of career that I worry Justin Herbert might have, which isn’t a bad thing when it comes to longevity but his legacy is flawed due to the lack of big wins.
  1. Matthew Stafford – Los Angeles Rams
  • One of my favorite players of all time, he’s just so likable. Stafford finally got his chance at success when he was dealt to the Rams back in 2021, and took his team to the promiseland baby. It’s hard to believe that he is one of the older QBs in the game now, but he is still talented. With Cooper Kupp and rookie sensation Puka Nacua, he will still put up viable numbers and stay as one of the better quarterbacks in the league.
  1. Justin Fields – Chicago Bears
  • JF is talented but has had trouble adjusting to the NFL. I don’t think the Bears have handled him well, they let him run all over the place last year which worked but they just don’t have enough help to help him take his game to the next level.
  1.  Dak Prescott – Dallas Cowboys
  • Dak isn’t great, but he has had a successful career and has done well enough to lead dem boys to a 4-2 start through six games.
  1. Geno Smith – Seattle Seahawks
  • The man who didn’t write back is having an up-and-down year for Seattle, nowhere near as consistent as last season. I still believe he will be able to lock in and help the Seahawks make the playoffs.
  1. Baker Mayfield – Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  • Baker has had a nice rebound year after struggling for a couple of seasons in a row. He has kept the Bucs competitive and could potentially lead them to their third straight division title.
  1. Sam Howell – Washington Commanders
  • Howell has displayed why some people thought he could have been a first-round pick out of college at times this year. He is still raw, but I believe if he can protect the ball better he will be just fine as an NFL QB.
  1. Russell Wilson – Denver Broncos
  • Russ has had quite the dropoff in play over the past two seasons, and it seems like things are only getting worse but he still has flashes of his past at times. Things in Denver are bad, like REALLY bad.
  1. Deshaun Watson – Cleveland Browns
  • He just isn’t as good as he was in Houston, but he’s still decent, and with the defense that he has he should be able to win games. The Browns trading a ransom and giving this dude the contract they did is the most Brown thing ever.
  1. Gardner Minshew – Indianapolis Colts
  • I think Minshew is a solid QB, he brings energy to an offense but he’s never seem to find the right spot in the league. This season is massive for him, if he plays well and wins games, there is a chance he ends up as a starter next season.
  1. Jimmy Garoppolo – Las Vegas Raiders
  • Jimmy G is average, he’s not gonna surprise anyone with his play and you saw what he can do with a good team around him in San Fran, but unfortunately for him, he does not have that in Vegas. He and Jakobi Meyers have formed a good connection but have failed to get Devante Adams the ball as much as he should.
  1. Jordan Love – Green Bay Packers
  • Love has had his moments this year, some good, some bad, and some really bad. The skill set is there but with the Packer’s lack of receiving depth, Love will likely continue to struggle.
  1. Josh Dobbs – Arizona Cardinals
  • Who would’ve thought? This guy was traded to the Cards less than three weeks before the season started and won the starting job after they cut Colt McCoy. Shockingly he has played pretty well and has done a really solid job filling the role of starter before Kyler Murray returns from injury.
  1. Zach Wilson – New York Jets
  • Most people would have given up on the Jets season after Aaron Rodgers went down after just four plays in a Jets uniform, especially after seeing what Wilson did in his first two seasons. The narrative has changed a bit though, Wilson has done just enough to keep the Jets alive and might just be good enough to take them to the playoffs.
  1. Derek Carr – New Orleans Saints
  • Carr just straight up isn’t a good QB. I actually think the Saints would have a better shot to make the playoffs with Jameis Winston, which would make them much more fun to watch as well.
  1. Bryce Young – Carolina Panthers
  • Young is talented, but his lack of experience and the playmakers around him have hindered him thus far.
  1. Kenny Pickett – Pittsburgh Steelers
  • This one hurts. I love the guy but he makes some plays where I question if the guy has ever played football before. I still have hope, but Matt Canada needs to be removed from the situation before any of that can happen.
  1. Desmond Ridder – Atlanta Falcons
  • This guy just needs to protect the ball, because the Falcons have played well this year but Ridder has cost them games due to his turnovers. He is not good, but I could see him being a good backup in the league thanks to his athleticism.
  1. Daniel Jones – New York Giants
  • Danny Dimes baby. Giants fans really thought this guy was the truth after one decent year and getting carried by a weak schedule, good defense, and Saquon Barkley.
  1. Ryan Tannehill – Tennessee Titans
  • It seems the end of the road is near for Tannehill, he just doesn’t have the strength or mobility to get the job done anymore.
  1. Mac Jones – New England Patriots
  • It’s tanking time in New England.
