VanillaBooty’s Week 9 QB Power Rankings
- Patrick Mahomes
● He played pretty bad last week but he’s still the best in the league.
2. Jalen Hurts
● Definition of a dawg. His weapons definitely compliment his game but he gets the job
done week in and week out.
3. Joe Burrow
● I knew this guy would turn it around. He had a rough start to the year but has turned
around and has the Bengals primed for another monster run for the Lombardi trophy.
4. Lamar Jackson
● OC Todd Monken finally figured out how to call plays correctly and this has benefited
Lamar immensely. Jackson has proven that he can be a stud when he’s outside of the
pocket in the past but he’s evolved this year without having to make plays with his feet.
5. Josh Allen – Buffalo Bills
● Josh is on a short leash now. He has been so inconsistent in 2023 but we all know how
good he is when at his best. This is an “I’m not mad, I’m just disappointed” type of drop in the rankings.
6. Tua Tagovailoa – Miami Dolphins
● Tua continued his strong season last week, throwing for 324 yards and three tuddys.
The only worry at this point is that he has eaten against weaker opponents while
struggling against the only teams they have played over .500.
7. Trevor Lawrence – Jacksonville Jaguars
● T-Law hasn’t been really good this season despite his numbers being amongst the top
signal callers. If he keeps playing at this level the Jags will be serious contenders this
Year.
8. Jared Goff – Detroit Lions
● Goff bounced back after an abysmal performance on the road in Baltimore. The former
first-overall pick was slinging it all over the field on Monday night, though it was against
the Raiders. I still love how Goff has played this season and still remains in my top 10.
9. Justin Herbert – Los Angeles Chargers
● Another guy who bounced back after a brutal week nine was Herbert. I’m really rooting
for this guy, but he’ll have to be better on a week-to-week basis if he ever wants to crack
the top five on my list.
10. C.J. Stroud – Houston Texans
● A tough week eight for Stroud after coming off of a bye week, but it’s just one game.
He’s still raw, but still the answer in Houston.
11. Dak Prescott – Dallas Cowboys
● I know, gross right? I tried to find someone else to put here but the QB play this season
has been poor. Dak has played pretty solid since the Sunday night massacre in San
Francisco back in week 5.
12. Brock Purdy – San Francisco 49ers
● Purdy has had a fall from grace after losing his first game in Cleveland. I’m not sure if
this is the real Brock or not, he’s made ill-advised throws and doesn’t have the same swagger he had
before that loss. Not having Deebo Samuel on the field and a banged-up CMC definitely doesn’t help, but
he will only drop one spot on this list for now.
13. Matthew Stafford – Los Angeles Rams
● I know he hasn’t played well over his most recent two games, but I still think he’s one of
the better QBs in the league. The Rams might stink, but without this guy, they would be
Bottom-feeders.
14. Geno Smith – Seattle Seahawks
● Geno rises in the rankings because of his ability to win games for Seattle. He hasn’t
looked great this year but being able to win consistently is arguably the best trait you can
have as a gunslinger, and he’s been able to do this with an injured DK Metcalf.
15. Sam Howell – Washington Commanders
● Shouldn’t shock anyone that he’s in the top 15, especially with all of the injuries to the
position this year. Howell threw the ball effectively against a top defense last week and
has showcased some real potential at times this year. Washington has horrible coaching
as well, but Howell has been impressive despite that.
16. Russell Wilson – Denver Broncos
● Didn’t expect this guy to get this high on my list but here we are. Russ has a 16:4
TD/INT ratio which is actually really good, and led the Broncos to their first win against
the Chiefs for the first time since Obama was in office.
17. Derek Carr – New Orleans Saints
● He’s been able to win games. I will say this, Jameis Winston would be way more fun to
watch. Wouldn’t be the smart choice, but would make them so much more watchable.
Shoutout Rashid Shaheed.
18. Kyler Murray – Arizona Cardinals
● The short king is back, baby. This may be a crazy spot but based on track record he will
be placed here for now.
19. Gardner Minshew – Indianapolis Colts
● Any game this guy plays in is pure entertainment. One drive he looks like Patrick Mahomes, the next he looks like Jackson Mahomes.
20. Baker Mayfield – Tampa Bay Buccaneers
● Baker is trying his best. The Bucs just aren’t that good and Todd Bowels is maybe the
worst head coach in the league.
21. Will Levis – Tennessee Titans
● I don’t know, but why not?
22. McCorkle Jones – New England Patriots
● Pats still stink, but Jones hasn’t played that badly over the past two weeks. This week
might be rough for the third-year QB out of Alabama as the injuries continue to pile up at
receiver.
23. Bryce Young – Carolina Panthers
● The number one pick in 2023 got a big win this past week, going against the number two
pick in C.J. Stroud. He’s going to be good but still doesn’t have enough weapons
around him for his numbers to improve in a big way.
24. Zach Wilson – New York Jets
● The Jets defense has been so good that they make this guy look like a competent
A quarterback that can lead them to the playoffs.
25. Kenny Pickett – Pittsburgh Steelers
● Can’t tell if he’s tough as nails or injury-prone. I honestly don’t know if he’s just not that
good or Matt Canada is just that bad.
26. Taylor Heinicke – Atlanta Falcons
● He’s baaaack. I actually think Atlanta is better off with him at the helm rather than
Ridder. Plus he’s such an easy guy to root for.
27. Jordan Love – Green Bay Packers
● I think he stinks. The wide receiver situation in Green Bay is bad, but with Lafluer as his
coach, you would think they’d be able to put up SOME points.
28. Daniel Jones – New York Giants
● He’s on track to play this week, so he makes the list.
29. P.J. Walker – Cleveland Browns
● He’s a solid backup QB. I will say I think he has more dawg in him than Deshaun
Watson.
30. Tyson Bagent – Chicago Bears
● Awesome story behind this guy, played in Division ll. and made it to the NFL. With that
being said, he is bad.
31. Jalen Hall – Minnesota Vikings
● I feel so bad for Kirk Cousins. I’m assuming Josh Dobbs will swap out with Hall next
week.
32. Aiden O’Connell – Las Vegas Raiders
● At least Josh McDaniels is gone!
