The Texas Rangers Win Their First Ever World Series

From being a strike away on two separate occasions to win the 2011 World Series, the Texas Rangers got the job done this season. The Rangers won Game 5 by a score of 5-0 to clinch the championship and win the series 4-1, claiming their first title in franchise history.
How it Happened
Mitch Garver cracked the scoreless game open in the 7th inning with an RBI single to score Corey Seager. Garver’s hit was the third straight hit by the Rangers which ultimately bounced Zac Gallen from the game.
With a 1-0 lead heading into the top of the 9th, the Rangers would tack on four insurance runs. Jonah Heim singled to center and with some help from an Alek Thomas error, two runs would score off the play.
Marcus Semien would step into the box with Heim on base and nuke a ball to left field, silencing the crowd and putting an exclamation point on the series.

Game 5 was an absolute rollercoaster. If you didn’t watch the game and only looked at the stats you would probably think that the Rangers controlled the entire game, but that wasn’t the case.
Arizona Diamondbacks
The Diamondbacks could have dominated this game, but instead choked it away six times. They had runners in scoring position in the first five innings of the game and could not capitalize once.
They finished the game 0-9 with runners in the scoring position which is just so pathetic. Looking at the defensive side, Zac Gallen pitched an absolute gem going 6 innings with a no-hitter. The Rangers could not touch his stuff through the first six innings and it was truly beautiful to watch.
The last choke job came in the 9th inning with Thomas’ error. The game could have been maybe 2-0 or 3-0 going into the bottom of the 9th which could have kept the D-Backs in it, but after the error, they were so defeated and were done.
Texas Rangers
Eovaldi is an absolute dawg. To get out of five separate jams is incredible considering the situation, the pressure, and the high pitch count. If this was a home game I think the fans would have broken a record after the 5th inning for how loud they would be.
To get no-hit through six innings and continue to stay composed and then rattle off hits to score runs late in the game shows how good this team is. I feel like if a pitcher is dealing like that the team may feel like they have already been beaten, but this was not the case.
Shoutout Seager for winning MVP. Six hits, six runs scored, and three homers in the series for the two-time champ. Also shoutout to Adolis Garcia for his incredible postseason.
Congrats to Max Scherzer and Jacob deGrom for getting a ring this season. Sucks they aren’t in a Mets uniform still, but at least they got to win some jewelry somewhere.
What’s Next
After the Rangers win there are now only five MLB teams who have not won a championship.
- Colorado Rockies
- Milwaukee Brewers
- San Diego Padres
- Seattle Mariners
- Tampa Bay Rays
Let me know in the comments who you think will win their first-ever World Series next.
My predictions: Mariners
