Tiger Woods at the Genesis Invitational
What is better than seeing Tiger Woods back in tournament action? After only three events last season, the GOAT, the man in red, the Big Cat, is back in action this week at the Genesis Invitational at Riviera Golf Course in California.
Last Season
Woods has played the course several times but has never taken the Genesis Invitational crown. Last season Tiger kicked off his 2022-23 campaign at Riviera, finishing -1 and T45 (69-74-67-73) earning $59,560.
Sun Day Red
The biggest news from Tiger in recent days is his new apparel brand called “Sun Day Red,” named after the iconic red shirts he wears on Sundays. Tiger and Nike split after 27 years of partnership which has allowed Tiger to explore this new chapter in his life.
Today
Tiger’s scorecard has a lot of pictures as it’s been an up-and-down first 11 holes. He started with a birdie on the opening Par 5 then went back-to-back bogeys then drilled his second birdie of the round. Tiger would drain another birdie putt on the Par 3 6th to get back to -1. He wouldn’t be in any harm until the 10th hole where he would bogey, but he would get the stroke back on the 11th with a birdie off the fringe.
